The Studio's mission is to accelerate the creation and evolution of AgeTech products for the aging adult ecosystem worldwide, closing maturity gaps around key product essentials: gerontology, UX, care management, responsible AI, and more.
Knowledge about building responsible, ethical technology for older adults should not be locked away or limited to those who can afford expensive consultants. The Studio provides open access to frameworks, guidance, and a global network of expertise, raising the standard for the products and services older adults depend on every day.
Access is equitable. The Studio stays open to everyone building for older adults, regardless of resources or location. Companies and organizations that can contribute help offset the cost, keeping it open for those who can't. Collaborators across the globe who share this belief make AgeTech Studio possible.
Where this work stands
The Studio is early. Its shape is being worked out in the open. Several design directions are under active exploration, held to three commitments:
Centering the breadth of aging across geography, language, economy, and ability, rather than defaulting to a Western, digitally fluent, well-resourced user.
Privacy by design. Older adults are disproportionately targeted by predatory data practices; the Studio must hold a higher bar, not a typical SaaS one.
Transparent about how AI is used, what data flows where, and who decides. Audit-friendly. Open to scrutiny from the community the Studio serves.
Details on how confidentiality works in practice are forthcoming.
Perspectives are welcome from anyone who builds, funds, regulates, or cares about AgeTech, and from aging adults whose experience should shape this work.
